A 35-year-old resident of Koppal lost his life after getting struck by a train while attempting to save his wife on a railway bridge in Huligi. When the train arrived, he managed to push his wife to safety on a platform, but he was hit by the engine and fell onto the rocks underneath. The Koppal Railway Police have filed a case and are currently investigating the incident.
