Kharge calls for Amit Shah to step down over pellet gun use
On Thursday, Congress president and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, slammed the central government regarding the police action against demonstrators at Jantar Mantar on July 20. Questioning who authorized the lathi charge, tear gas, and pellet guns against the students, Kharge claimed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah was responsible for these directives and subsequently demanded his resignation. Furthermore, Kharge alleged that the Centre is shielding Amit Shah.
