Key capabilities of the Astra missile being exported to Indonesia
The Astra missile, set for export from India to Indonesia, is a home-grown Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM) created by the DRDO. This weapon features an operational range between 80 and 110 km and is capable of reaching speeds as high as Mach 4.5. It is currently in service with the Indian Air Force, having been successfully equipped on both the Su-30 MKI fighter jets and the Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA).
