Kerala's Munnar sees rare Neelakurinji bloom after 12-year cycle
In Kerala's Munnar, the rare Neelakurinji flowers have blossomed extensively following a gap of almost 12 years. The last major flowering event in this area occurred back in 2014, with the current cycle starting towards the end of August. Scientifically referred to as Strobilanthes kunthiana, the Neelakurinji is famous for its tendency to bloom in massive clusters every dozen years or so.
