Karnataka scraps Parks Bill following public backlash
Karnataka Deputy CM G Parameshwara has confirmed that the government is pulling back the Parks Bill after facing significant criticism and protests. The legislation had permitted up to 5% of land within horticulture department parks and gardens to be utilized for public activities. Although the Assembly approved the Bill on August 24 without any discussion, Parameshwara stated that the government intends to bring it back in a revised format.
