Karnataka FDA finds rotten veggies and expired dairy at 36 railway stations
During recent food safety inspections across 36 railway stations in Karnataka, officials uncovered serious health violations at 112 food outlets. The checks revealed expired milk and curd, vegetables covered in fungus, and the use of questionable, unauthorized dyes in sweets like khoa peda and jalebi. Inspectors also noted other safety concerns, including food items like vadas being wrapped in newspaper, samosas served in cardboard boxes, and chutneys kept in improper plastic containers.
