Karnataka CM's plan to allow MLAs and VIPs at Tirumala 'aarathi' triggers controversy
Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has declared that MLAs and other VIPs from the state will now be permitted to join the 'aarathi' ritual at the Tirumala temple. At present, this privilege at the temple's inner entrance is restricted solely to the Chief Minister. The decision has faced backlash from BJP leader Ashok Gowda, who argued that since VIP arrangements are already in place at the shrine, this new provision is uncalled for.
