Kanda Express arriving in Delhi Wednesday; onions to be sold at ₹35/kg
Consumer Affairs Secretary Nidhi Khare announced that the inaugural 'Kanda Express,' loaded with 800 tonnes of onions, is scheduled to arrive in the national capital this Wednesday. These onions will be made available to the public at a rate of ₹35 per kilogram via NAFED, NCCF, and Kendriya Bhandar outlets. The government introduced the Kanda Express in response to a nearly 60% annual surge in onion prices.
