Jodhpur's 200-year-old traditional footwear gets GI tag
The traditional, handcrafted Jodhpuri Mojari from Rajasthan, which boasts a legacy spanning more than two centuries, has officially received the Geographical Indication (GI) tag. Bharat Dinesh, President of the Jodhpur Handicrafts Exports Association, noted that the Jodhpuri Mojari industry is worth roughly ₹100 crore, with exports contributing about ₹10 crore. He further stated that this GI certification will provide the age-old craft with a unique and recognized identity.
