Jharkhand police nab Maoist leader Misir Besra, who carried a ₹1 crore reward
Misir Besra, the final active Politburo and Central Committee member of the CPI (Maoist), has been taken into custody in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, following two decades as a fugitive. He had a reward of more than ₹1 crore on his head and was sought in connection with numerous incidents, including insurgent activities, weapons trafficking, extortion, and assaults on security personnel. This arrest follows the surrender of 16 other Maoists to the Jharkhand Police earlier on Tuesday.
