As part of a fresh prison reform initiative, Jharkhand is preparing to permit specific inmates to exit jail during the day for work and return by the evening. This policy is designed to give qualified prisoners a chance to earn an income and provide for their families. The program will initially be implemented across four central jails through a newly established open and semi-open barrack framework.
