Jammu and Kashmir updates cancer support policy, increases aid
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has introduced changes to the Cancer Treatment and Management Fund for the Poor in J&K. The annual income threshold for eligibility has been increased to ₹4 lakh, and the maximum financial aid is now set at ₹75,000. Beneficiaries are permitted to receive this support up to three times. The scheme now also covers hospitals that are empanelled under PMJAY-SEHAT. Payments will be sent straight to the beneficiaries using the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
