Pakistan’s Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has revealed a new schedule for nationwide protests to oppose the government’s petroleum levy and the ongoing surge in inflation, following over a week of rallies in key cities. JI leader Hafiz Naeemur Rehman stated that the party will hold a countrywide strike on August 26, immediately after 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, which will be followed by a long march heading to Islamabad.
