Jaishankar stands by India's oil imports from Russia during Kyiv visit
During his visit to Kyiv, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar addressed India's ongoing trade relations with Russia following his discussion with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. He maintained that purchasing Russian oil is not the deciding factor in the war's conclusion. Jaishankar pointed to the energy needs of India's 1.4 billion citizens as a priority and reiterated that India remains ready to assist in mediating a resolution to the conflict.
