The rocket, which will transport the EOS-5 satellite, earned the nickname "naughty boy" due to its inconsistent performance during early development stages. The EOS-5 is significant as it is India’s inaugural imaging satellite designed to function from a geosynchronous orbit located 36,000 km above the planet.
