Israel nature reserve covered in massive spider webs
Israel's Nahal Sorek nature reserve has been blanketed in heavy layers of spider webs, leading some to describe the event as a 'spider apocalypse.' The phenomenon was caused by a massive surge of billions of midges, which gave the spiders a plentiful food supply and attracted them to the location. Yehiyam Dahan, a volunteer for the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, remarked that the area resembles something out of a sci-fi film.
