Investigation launched after 5 non-native baby orangutans discovered in Odisha
Authorities have initiated an investigation after five infant orangutans were recovered from an Odisha forest, as this endangered species is not indigenous to India. Forest Minister Ganesh Ram Singhkhuntia stated, "We suspect that they might have been released in the Balasore district forest, which borders West Bengal, by an international wildlife smuggling racket."
