Instagram ads in India linked to child abuse and adult content
A BBC probe uncovered approximately 30 Instagram ads that promoted child sexual abuse material, alongside roughly 20 advertisements containing adult pornography within India. In response to these findings, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has ordered the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to call in Meta for questioning. This matter has gained significant notice because sharing this type of content is considered a criminal act under Indian digital legislation.
