India's oil strategy driven by national interest: MEA on US tariff proposal
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that India is keeping a close watch on a new US legislative proposal that seeks to place 100% tariffs on nations purchasing Russian oil. Jaiswal emphasized that India's approach to energy security is dictated by its own national interests and the necessity to meet the energy demands of its 1.4 billion people. He also noted that India procures its energy supplies from a variety of global sources, which includes the United States.
