India's July wholesale inflation dips to 9.78%, food costs climb

Government figures indicate that India's wholesale inflation saw a minor decline, moving to 9.78% in July compared to 9.87% in June. This drop was driven by a significant cooling in fuel and power costs, which balanced out the rising prices for manufactured goods and primary items. Wholesale inflation has now stayed past the 9% mark for three consecutive months. Meanwhile, the WPI Food Index saw an uptick, reaching 6.65% in July from the 6.14% recorded in June.
