Indian startup angel funding drops 25%: Report

A recent study by Vestd India reveals that total investments in Indian startups decreased by 8.3% in 2025, with angel funding seeing a sharper decline of 25.3%. During this period, the total count of funding deals fell to 2,497, while seed-stage investments saw a 31.8% reduction. Even with this cooling trend, India maintains its position as the third-largest hub for emerging unicorns globally, boasting 43 such companies, trailing only China and the United States.
