Indian Railways launches its first 1.3-km double-stack container train
Indian Railways successfully ran its inaugural 1.3-km-long double-stack container train, traveling from the Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT) close to Mumbai to Varnama, Gujarat. The train left JNPT on Friday evening at 7 pm, transporting 360 TEUs with a total weight of 3,922 tonnes. By connecting two double-stack rakes, the authorities created this single long-haul service, which traversed approximately 422 km along the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor.
