Indian IT companies to trim bench levels to 8-10% by FY27: Report
A report by TeamLease Digital indicates that leading Indian IT firms like TCS, Infosys, and HCLTech are planning to cut their average bench size to between 8% and 10% by the 2027 fiscal year. This target is a notable drop from the 20-30% range seen before the rise of AI. In the IT sector, the term 'bench' describes staff members who are on the company payroll but are currently not assigned to any specific client projects.
