India to assist Nepal in identifying flood victims through DNA testing

India has stepped up to offer forensic DNA profiling services to help identify those who lost their lives in the flash floods that struck Nepal on August 26. Immediate family members currently in India are invited to provide biological samples at various CFSL, SFSL, and NFSU laboratory locations. Once processed, these DNA profiles will be sent to the Nepal Police through email. Current reports indicate that at least 1,259 people have died, while more than 5,000 individuals are still unaccounted for.
