India has gifted five young peacocks to the United Nations office in Geneva, consisting of four blue birds and one rare white peacock. The birds' plumage matches the colours of the UN. According to the UN, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi sent a breeding pair from the Delhi Zoo to the Geneva office on her private aircraft 45 years ago. The peacock serves as India's national bird.
