India eases 5G radiation norms to cut operator costs and boost reach
According to an Economic Times report, the government has adjusted electromagnetic field (EMF) limits for mobile networks to align with international standards. Starting next month, the updated regulations will increase the allowed power density for 5G base stations from 5 watts to 10 watts per square metre. This change is expected to help telecom companies provide coverage over wider areas using fewer towers, ultimately lowering their infrastructure expenses.
