India becomes a major diesel source for Europe as US and Russian supplies drop
According to PTI, which cited data from Vortexa, India has stepped up as a primary provider of diesel to Europe. This shift follows a decline in shipments from the US and reduced exports from Russia due to sanctions linked to the war in Ukraine. During August, roughly 200,000 barrels of gasoil and diesel moved toward Europe via the Bab-el-Mandeb strait, a figure that has almost climbed back to the levels seen last year. India accounted for approximately 60% of those shipments.
