Following his conviction for raping a junior colleague in Goa in 2013, Tehelka magazine founder Tarun Tejpal requested leniency from the Goa bench of the Bombay High Court. Prior to his sentencing, Tejpal addressed the court, saying, "I'm 62, and I believe I'm a victim. I have a wife, and that's not much else to say...Please be lenient with me."
