The study highlights a process known as Elevation-Dependent Warming, which accounts for why temperatures increase at a faster rate in mountainous regions compared to lower-lying areas. The most significant warming trends were observed in well-known tourist destinations, including Bhaderwah, Pahalgam, and Gulmarg.
