IIT Delhi convocation: Congress' Shama Mohamed corrected by alumnus over Gayatri Mantra claim
Congress spokesperson Shama Mohamed alleged that the Gayatri Mantra was recited during the 57th Convocation at IIT Delhi. However, it was clarified that the chant was actually a verse taken from the Shikshavalli of the Taittiriya Upanishad, rather than the Gayatri Mantra. Gyan C. Mehta, a 1968 Physics gold medalist and IIT Kanpur graduate, responded by stating, "The core basis of your post is factually wrong. The chant is not the Gayatri Mantra."
