IIT Delhi and DRDO create India's first home-grown tactical aerostat
In a joint effort involving IIT Delhi, the DRDO, and a local startup, India has successfully built its inaugural indigenous tactical aerostat. This technology is designed to assist with communication, logistics, and surveillance tasks. According to IIT Delhi professor BS Butola, the aerostat is capable of reaching altitudes of 20 kilometres and can carry various payloads, including infrared detectors or cameras.
