ICE considers $20 million contract for electric shock gloves
The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency is looking to invest $20 million in specialized gloves capable of administering painful electric shocks during physical altercations. These tools, referred to as Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter (G.L.O.V.E.), appear as standard gloves but can be switched into an electrical mode by an officer. It is reported that the resulting shock is intended to force detainees to comply with orders almost immediately.
