IAS officer asks PM to approve his 2019 resignation

Kannan Gopinathan, an IAS officer whose request to quit his job has been awaiting official clearance since 2019, has reached out to the Prime Minister. He stated, "Dear PM Narendra Modi, now that you have started accepting resignations, please accept mine." Gopinathan became a member of the Congress party last year. His request follows the recent resignation of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, which occurred after protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party regarding the NEET UG paper leak.
