Hospital shares drop 2% following proposal to limit room charges
On Tuesday, stocks of major hospital chains saw a decline of more than 2% after a government health panel suggested that hospital room prices should be restricted to the level of three-star hotel rates. Apollo Hospitals saw its stock price slide by 2.8%, hitting a low of ₹8,676 during the session. Meanwhile, Max Healthcare shares dropped 2.6% on the BSE, and Fortis Healthcare shares also saw a decrease of 2.43%.
