Himachal tomato farmers struggle with falling prices and poor pesticide quality
Tomato farmers are facing a double blow as market prices drop while the expense of pesticides continues to climb, significantly raising overall production costs. Farmers arriving at the Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) in Solan to offload their crops are complaining that many of the pesticides currently sold are failing to work. One farmer, Pal Singh Thakur, stated, "Pesticides are supplied by Mumbai-based company."
