Himachal Pradesh leads India in pupil-teacher ratio despite staff shortages
Education Minister Rohit Thakur told the Vidhan Sabha today that Himachal Pradesh maintains the nation's best pupil-teacher ratio (PTR), even though 3,214 primary schools and 101 middle schools are currently managed by only one teacher. He noted that the state's PTR stands at 12 for primary schools, 11 for middle schools, and 10 for high and senior secondary levels, regardless of the existing teaching vacancies.
