Himachal Pradesh: 60 medicinal plant species at risk of disappearing

Around 60 plant species that hold significant medicinal and ecological value are currently under threat of extinction in Himachal Pradesh. This list includes the state flower, buransh (Rhododendron), as well as Brahma Kamal, Bhojpatra, Ratanjot, and tejpatta. Factors such as climate change, habitat loss, excessive harvesting, and low natural regrowth rates are driving this decline. To improve protection measures, the State Biodiversity Board has officially identified these specific plants.
