High Court: Kids of wealthy private sector workers ineligible for OBC quota
The Kerala High Court has declared that children of high-earning private sector workers do not qualify for OBC non-creamy layer (NCL) status. The NCL certificate is reserved for OBC candidates from families with an annual income under ₹8 lakh. This ruling followed a petition from a student whose father earned ₹1.12 crore annually, who had requested the certificate to apply for NEET and the Kerala Engineering, Architecture & Medical entrance exams.
