HDFC Bank trims workforce by 3,343 in FY26 as automation focus grows
During the 2026 financial year, HDFC Bank reduced its staff strength by 3,343 employees as part of its drive to automate processes. The overall headcount at the country's biggest private sector lender stood at 2,11,178, down from 2,14,521 in FY25. "As we accelerate the transformation toward becoming a technology-led, customer-centric bank, employees need to keep pace," CEO Sashidhar Jagdishan said.
