Guwahati Police Seize 37 kg Smuggled Gold Worth ₹54 Crore in Major Northeast Bust
Police in Guwahati, Assam, confiscated approximately 37 kg of allegedly smuggled 24K gold bars, valued at more than ₹54 crore, after raiding a hideout in Kharghuli. Authorities stated this represents one of the biggest seizures of its kind in the Northeast region. One person has been arrested. Police further indicated that the arrested individual, who reportedly received about ₹80,000 monthly, is also suspected of having previously smuggled 20 kg of gold.
