Mukesh Patel has been taken into custody in Gujarat for allegedly misrepresenting his nephew's death from cancer as a fatal road accident to fraudulently obtain insurance money and compensation. According to police, Patel used falsified paperwork to collect ₹5 lakh from an insurance firm. He also reportedly attempted to claim an additional ₹15 lakh through a tribunal, from which he managed to receive ₹57,000. Patel had been evading authorities since a case was filed against him in 2005.
