Gujarat: IAS officer's mentoring program helps tribal girls stay in school
A mentoring initiative called “Collector in Classroom,” launched by IAS officer Gargi Jain, has successfully slashed school dropout rates for tribal girls in Gujarat’s Chhota Udepur by almost 60% in just one year. Since taking charge as Collector, Jain has made it a point to visit local schools to guide students and motivate them to chase their career goals. Currently, this program provides mentorship to over 750 girls across five Kanya Vidyalayas throughout the district.
