Gujarat: Forest team saves lion trapped in 10-foot pit
Forest department staff successfully rescued an Asiatic lion that had tumbled into a 10-foot-deep trench located in the Tulsi Shyam Range of Gujarat. The big cat had sustained injuries and was too exhausted to move on its own. To perform the rescue, a tracker was sent down into the pit inside a cage. The tracker helped coax the lion into the enclosure, after which a team of 20 workers hauled the cage back up to safety.
