Gujarat drug smuggling case: 6 Pakistani nationals get 8-year prison sentence
A special NIA court has handed down an eight-year rigorous jail term to six Pakistani citizens. This follows a 2019 operation in the middle of the sea off the Gujarat coast where 330 kg of narcotics were recovered. According to the prosecution, the individuals had breached Indian maritime boundaries and discarded drug-filled packages into the water. The court cleared the six men of charges related to the UAPA Act.
