According to a Moneycontrol report, the Central government is planning to introduce an updated version of its gold monetisation scheme in the coming two weeks. This new framework is designed to help mobilise more than 1,000 tonnes of gold. The revised plan may permit jewellers to serve as collection partners in addition to banks, which would help in gathering gold deposits from households nationwide.
