Government clears 5 major transport initiatives totaling ₹13,000 crore
The Union Cabinet has given the green light to five new transport infrastructure schemes with a total budget of ₹13,041 crore. This includes four railway multi-tracking initiatives valued at ₹9,450 crore, which will expand rail capacity by roughly 410 km across Odisha, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh. These developments will focus on the Cuttack-Paradeep, Gummidipundi-Gudur, Bhadrak-Haridaspur, and Kharagpur-Bhadrak routes, with all work expected to be finished by the 2030-31 fiscal year.
