Google updates storage policy to include Android backup data
Google has modified its policy so that all Android backup information—such as SMS messages, call logs, and device configurations—now counts against your account's storage quota. Before this change, the limit only applied to media files in Google Photos and images or videos sent via MMS. A company representative noted, "We expect this to only add 40 MB on average."
