Ganga water rises in Varanasi, all 84 ghats submerged
On Monday, the Ganga River's water level in Varanasi climbed to 69.40 metres, inching closer to the 71.26-metre danger threshold and causing all 84 city ghats to flood. The surging water has reportedly covered various landmarks situated along the riverfront and reached the River Police Commissionerate office. Teams from the Water Police and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) remain on alert.
