Ganga water level in Patna hits 10-year high, surpasses record

Due to intense rainfall in Bihar and across the border in Nepal, the Ganga river has surged past its peak flood level at Patna's Gandhi Ghat. By 5 pm on Saturday, the water reached 50.57 metres, climbing five centimetres higher than the previous record of 50.52 metres set on August 21, 2016. Currently, the flooding has impacted approximately 10.26 lakh residents spanning 11 districts throughout the state.
