Ganga Expressway exit road collapses following first rainfall, two months after opening

Just two months after its inauguration, a section of the exit road on the Ganga Expressway in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, has collapsed following the region's first rainfall. Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the 594-km expressway, which cost ₹36,230 crore to construct, on April 29. On Friday, rain caused a seven-metre stretch of the approach road to wash out as the soil along the embankment gave way. Authorities have since completed emergency repairs on the damaged section.
